This is a great little notebook for pencils and ballpoints but, alas, not for fountain pen inks as the description states. With wetter inks (Iroshizuku) there is terrible feathering and a fair amount of bleed through. Drier inks (Montblanc, Pelikan) fare better, but there is still some feathering and a significant amount of ghosting. My nib preference is Japanese F and Western EF, so we're not talking about gobs of ink on the paper either. The paper has some pleasant tooth to it and is more akin to offerings from Leuchtturm than some slicker counterparts from Rhodia or Tomoe River. The paper in the A5 X Notebook fared much better with the fountain pen inks than the paper in this notebook.
On a positive note, the binding appears sturdy, the pages lay flat, and the cover is supple and slip proof with a solid matte feel. If it weren't for the paper, this sturdy little notebook would be absolutely perfect. Hopefully Northbooks will make the successive runs of this one with the A5 X paper instead. I look forward to that day.
