BEST. If there were a way to justify collecting notebooks as a higher calling, I would say I've been called. I've tried them all. I love the half-letter size, but the paper has always been too thin or the grid too dark or the pages too few or too many, or the binding too rigid or too flimsy, and my eye has wandered.I saw some great reviews of Northbook, which is made in the US, and thought sure I have 100 other slightly less than perfect notebooks, maybe I'll never find THE ONE, but I can't give up hope, right? So this review is for notebook nerds, with answers to the questions I myself would ask before buying a notebook. For those of us who love a grid to do bullet journaling, this is a great gridded notebook, on paper that's easily 1/3 weightier than Moleskine - a really nice smooth substantial cream color with grey 5mm grid from edge to edge. I've written with mechanical pencil, .38mm gel pens, .5mm gel and ball-points, and .7mm gel, and even my fountain pen with fine tip and dark brown ink, and this is the first notebook I've ever had that I can actually use the back side of the paper - only the heavy black ghosts through a bit, and it's not noticeable at all when the page is filled on both sides. The binding is sewn into 8 signatures and stands about 1/2 inch high. I can't speak for the cover durability because keep mine in a leather refillable cover meant for A5 journals, and even though it's thinner than most journal refills it will fit great if your cover is flexible (I have to say I have yet to fill a journal with more than about 100 sheets in it). Have switched between grid and dot grid now, and both are equally great. I didn't get paid for this review or anything, I'm just a notebook fan speaking to other notebook fans. You have arrived. ;)
